A Second Chance for the Black Rope?
Remember the explosive clash between Gojo Satoru and Miguel during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons? While Gojo ultimately triumphed, Miguel made history as the first individual to disrupt Gojo's seemingly impenetrable Infinity technique, all thanks to the special-grade cursed tool known as the Black Rope.
But here's where it gets controversial... The Black Rope's immense power came at a steep price: each use accelerated its disintegration. After Miguel's confrontation with Gojo, the rope was already significantly damaged. Later, when Yuta Okkotsu accompanied Miguel back to Africa to retrieve the rope, it vanished completely after its final use.
Many fans theorize that if the Black Rope had been readily available, it could have been used to free Gojo from the Prison Realm, as suggested by Tengen. The rope's absence closed that door. Now, fast forward seven decades, and Chapter 11 of JJK Modulo confirms the Black Rope has resurfaced!
From Weapon of War to Bridge of Peace?
So, what's the Black Rope's purpose this time around? Remember Miguel mentioning that his family painstakingly wove the Black Rope over generations? Given that Modulo takes place roughly seventy years later, it's plausible that Miguel's descendants have created a new Black Rope. But instead of being used in combat, Usami is contemplating employing it to foster peaceful relations with the Simurians.
The leader of the Deskunte Clan placed a deadly curse on Dabra's sister, causing the Simurians to seek assistance from human sorcerers to remove the curse without harming her. Usami proposes the Black Rope which can nullify any cursed techniques.
And this is the part most people miss... While Usami acknowledges that the Japanese Sorcerers don't currently possess the Black Rope and would need to acquire it from Africa, potentially from Miguel's lineage, he pledges to Dabra that he will do everything he can to obtain the cursed tool and break the curse on his sister. Acquiring this rare artifact will be no small feat.
The Black Rope could become a crucial tool for uniting humans and Simurians, especially since the Simurians recently discovered that human sorcerers used to kill cursed spirits (known as kalyans) in the past, straining their relationship. Furthermore, an African man resembling Miguel was seen assisting Tsurugi and Maru in catching an Octopus. This is likely not a coincidence and that mysterious man may hold the key to finding the Black Rope in Africa.
But here's where it gets controversial... Could this newfound hope for peace be a facade? Or could the Black Rope ultimately be used as a weapon against the Simurians in the war?
What do you think? Will Usami fulfill his promise to Dabra, or will the Black Rope become a weapon in the conflict against the Simurians? Share your predictions in the comments below!
